Please read these rules carefully before registering. Both members of each team must meet all eligibility requirements and comply with these rules in order to participate and qualify for any prize.

Eligibility

The Great Diamond Hunt 2026 is open to individuals who are at least 18 years old at the time of registration and who can participate in person in Rhode Island on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

Each team must consist of two eligible participants, and both must remain together and participate throughout the Hunt.

Owners and employees of Ocean State Diamond Co., members of their immediate families or households, and any person directly involved in planning, organizing, administering, or operating The Great Diamond Hunt are not eligible to participate or win a prize.

Ocean State Diamond Co. reserves the right to verify the eligibility of any participant or team before awarding a prize.

Registration & Team Requirements

Each team must consist of two participants and must submit one complete registration for The Great Diamond Hunt 2026.

All information submitted during registration must be accurate and complete. A valid email address and mobile phone number are required for both participants.

Teams may submit only one registration. Duplicate registrations do not provide additional entries or advantages and may be removed at the discretion of Ocean State Diamond Co.

The two participants listed on the registration form will constitute the registered team for the Hunt. Team substitutions are not permitted.

Registration alone does not guarantee eligibility. Ocean State Diamond Co. reserves the right to verify participant information and eligibility before, during, or after the Hunt and before awarding any prize.

How The Hunt Works & Participation Rules

The Great Diamond Hunt is a clue-based competition in which registered teams will travel to a series of designated locations, solve clues, and progress toward the final destination.

Teams must complete the Hunt together. Both registered participants must remain together throughout the competition. Teams may not divide up in order to visit different locations or complete different portions of the Hunt separately.

Clues must be completed in the intended order. Teams may use their phones, the internet, GPS, maps, and other publicly available resources to help solve clues unless a particular clue specifically states otherwise.

Participants may not contact businesses or potential clue locations to ask whether they are participating in The Great Diamond Hunt. Participating locations have been instructed not to confirm their involvement.

Teams must follow all applicable laws, traffic regulations, parking requirements, and instructions from participating businesses and event staff. Speeding, reckless driving, trespassing, entering restricted areas, or engaging in unsafe conduct is prohibited and may result in disqualification.

No clue will require participants to enter an unsafe, restricted, or unauthorized area. Participants should never take an action they believe to be unsafe in order to solve a clue.

Ocean State Diamond Co. may disqualify any team that cheats, interferes with another team, damages property, disrupts a participating business, provides false information, or otherwise violates these Official Rules or the spirit of the competition.

Winner Determination

The first eligible team to successfully complete all required clues in the proper order and reach the official finish location will be the winner of The Great Diamond Hunt 2026, subject to verification by Ocean State Diamond Co.

Both registered members of the team must be physically present together at the finish in order for the team to complete the Hunt.

The winning team will be determined using the official finish time recorded by Ocean State Diamond Co. or its designated event staff. A team’s arrival at or proximity to the finish location alone does not constitute completion of the Hunt.

Before a winner is confirmed, Ocean State Diamond Co. may verify that the team completed the required clues and locations in the proper order and complied with these Official Rules.

If two or more teams appear to finish at substantially the same time, Ocean State Diamond Co. will determine the order of finish using available time records, clue completion records, event records, and other information reasonably available to determine which eligible team completed the Hunt first.

If a potential winning team is determined to be ineligible or is found to have violated these Official Rules, that team may be disqualified and the prize may be awarded to the next eligible team to successfully complete the Hunt.

All decisions regarding completion of the Hunt, order of finish, eligibility, rule compliance, and determination of the winning team will be made by Ocean State Diamond Co. in good faith and will be final.

The Prize

The winning team will receive one 2-carat lab-grown diamond solitaire engagement ring from Ocean State Diamond Co.

The diamond will range from approximately 1.98 to 2.07 carats and will be independently graded G color or better and VS2 clarity or better. There are no replacements or alterations allowed on the ring chosen by Ocean State Diamond Co. except for the color of gold and the finger size.

The prize ring will be custom ordered for the winning team in the appropriate ring size and may be made in either 14K white gold or 14K yellow gold, at the winner’s choice.

The exact diamond and mounting may vary from promotional images, but the prize will be of substantially similar style, quality, and value to the advertised prize.

The prize is non-transferable and may not be exchanged for cash, store credit, or another item unless otherwise approved by Ocean State Diamond Co.

The winning team is responsible for any federal, state, or local taxes or other obligations that may arise from receipt of the prize.

Ocean State Diamond Co. reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond its reasonable control.

The prize will have a minimum retail value of $2,000 and an approximate retail value of up to $3,500 ddepending on prevailing diamond and precious metal market conditions at the time the order is placed.

Event Changes, Delays & Cancellation

Ocean State Diamond Co. reserves the right to modify, postpone, suspend, or cancel The Great Diamond Hunt if circumstances beyond its reasonable control make the Hunt unsafe, impractical, unfair, or impossible to conduct as planned.

Such circumstances may include, but are not limited to, severe weather, public emergencies, road closures, transportation disruptions, technical failures, the unexpected closure or unavailability of a clue location, or other events that materially affect the operation of the Hunt.

If a clue location becomes unavailable or a clue cannot be completed as intended, Ocean State Diamond Co. may modify, replace, skip, or otherwise adjust that portion of the Hunt in a manner intended to preserve a fair competition.

If the Hunt is delayed, modified, postponed, or cancelled, Ocean State Diamond Co. will communicate available updates to registered participants using the contact information provided during registration and/or through its official social media channels.

Any changes made under this section will be applied as fairly and consistently as reasonably possible to all participating teams.

Participant Responsibility & Assumption of Risk

Participation in The Great Diamond Hunt is voluntary. Each participant is responsible for their own conduct, transportation, personal safety, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations throughout the Hunt.

The Hunt may involve driving, walking, traveling between locations, entering participating businesses, and other ordinary activities associated with a public scavenger-hunt style event.

By participating, each participant acknowledges and accepts the ordinary risks associated with these activities, including risks related to travel, weather, traffic, walking surfaces, public spaces, and interactions with third-party locations.

Participants are responsible for determining whether they are able to safely participate in any activity or travel required during the Hunt. No participant should take any action they believe to be unsafe in order to solve a clue, reach a location, or complete the Hunt.

Ocean State Diamond Co. is not responsible for the acts or omissions of other participants, motorists, participating businesses, property owners, or other third parties encountered during the Hunt.

Each participant agrees to follow reasonable instructions provided by Ocean State Diamond Co., event staff, and participating locations and understands that unsafe, reckless, disruptive, or unlawful conduct may result in immediate disqualification.

Prize Claim & Winner Verification

The potential winning team is subject to verification by Ocean State Diamond Co. before the prize is officially awarded.

Both members of the potential winning team may be required to provide valid government-issued identification and any additional information reasonably necessary to confirm identity, age, registration information, eligibility, and compliance with these Official Rules.

The potential winning team may also be required to complete and sign prize acceptance, eligibility, tax, release, or other documents reasonably required in connection with awarding the prize.

If the potential winning team cannot be verified, refuses to provide required documentation, is determined to be ineligible, or is found to have violated these Official Rules, the team may be disqualified and the prize may be awarded to the next eligible team to successfully complete the Hunt.

The prize ring will be ordered after the winning team has been verified and the winner’s ring size and choice of 14K white gold or 14K yellow gold have been confirmed.

Because the prize is custom ordered, delivery will not necessarily occur on the day of the Hunt. Ocean State Diamond Co. will provide the winning team with an estimated completion timeframe after the final specifications have been confirmed.

Publicity, Photos & Social Media

Ocean State Diamond Co. may photograph, record, or otherwise document portions of The Great Diamond Hunt for event coverage, social media, marketing, and promotional purposes.

By participating in the Hunt, participants understand that they may appear in photographs, video, or other event-related media captured in public or event spaces.

Where permitted by law, participants grant Ocean State Diamond Co. permission to use their name, likeness, image, voice, team name, and event participation in connection with The Great Diamond Hunt and related promotional materials without additional compensation.

Participants are encouraged to share their Hunt experience on social media, but any social media activity must comply with these Official Rules and may not be used to interfere with another team, reveal clue locations to other participants, or otherwise compromise the fairness of the competition.

Ocean State Diamond Co. may repost or share publicly posted content related to The Great Diamond Hunt that tags or mentions Ocean State Diamond Co. or the event.

General Conditions & Disqualification

Ocean State Diamond Co. reserves the right to disqualify any participant or team that violates these Official Rules, acts dishonestly or unfairly, interferes with another team, tampers with any clue or event material, disrupts a participating location, or otherwise compromises the integrity of The Great Diamond Hunt.

Teams may not alter, remove, damage, hide, copy, or interfere with any clue, sign, object, QR code, instruction, or other material used in connection with the Hunt.

Participants may not intentionally provide another team with false information, obstruct another team’s progress, impersonate event staff or participating businesses, or attempt to gain an unfair advantage through deception, unauthorized access, or manipulation of the event.

Any attempt to bypass the intended sequence of clues, gain unauthorized access to future clues, exploit a technical error, or otherwise complete the Hunt in a manner inconsistent with the intended competition may result in disqualification.

If a technical problem, human error, unauthorized interference, or other circumstance affects the fairness or operation of the Hunt, Ocean State Diamond Co. may take reasonable corrective action, including modifying a clue, adjusting the competition, reviewing completion records, or disqualifying a team when appropriate.

Failure by Ocean State Diamond Co. to enforce any provision of these Official Rules in a particular instance does not constitute a waiver of that provision.

Limitation of Liability & Release

To the fullest extent permitted by law, participants agree to release and hold harmless Ocean State Diamond Co., Ferriera and Barber LLC, its owners, employees, agents, event staff, participating businesses, and any other persons or entities involved in the planning or operation of The Great Diamond Hunt from claims arising out of or related to participation in the Hunt or acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of the prize, except where prohibited by law.

Ocean State Diamond Co. is not responsible for injuries, losses, damages, delays, accidents, property damage, transportation issues, lost or stolen personal property, accidental death or dismemberment or other circumstances resulting from a participant’s own actions, the actions of third parties, or conditions encountered while traveling to or participating in the Hunt.

Ocean State Diamond Co. is not responsible for technical failures, mobile phone issues, internet or cellular service interruptions, GPS errors, website outages, QR code failures, delayed communications, or other technological problems that may affect a team’s participation.

Participants remain responsible for exercising reasonable care and judgment at all times and for deciding whether any activity, route, location, or condition is safe for them.

Nothing in these Official Rules is intended to waive any right or responsibility that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.

These Official Rules and The Great Diamond Hunt will be governed by the laws of the State of Rhode Island, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to The Great Diamond Hunt, these Official Rules, participation in the event, or the awarding of the prize will be handled in accordance with applicable Rhode Island law.

Before initiating formal legal action, participants are encouraged to contact Ocean State Diamond Co. and make a good-faith effort to resolve any dispute informally.
